Final Product

I attended the last performance of Psycho Beach on Sunday afternoon accompanied by a dear friend, who happens to be a business management major. I am identifying him as someone who isn't directly involved in the theatre department because he provided me with valuable insight. It was obvious that he was impressed by the casts ability to make him laugh as he energetically asked, "Do you have to be a theatre major to audition for these shows?"

For this reason I would like to congratulate the cast/crews for a phenomenal performance & ask that we all actively participate by inviting/encouraging others to join in with future productions!

I feel that the laughter from this show will continue to resonate within our department :)

Opening Night Tonight!

We had a great final dress rehearsal last night in front of an invited audience that was very lively and seemed to have a great time. More than any other form, comedy needs an audience. we can rehearse a play a long time, but all the rhythms change the minute there are laughs involved. Comedy is done in waltz time: one-two-three, one-two-three, punchline-take-laugh, punchline-take-laugh. So we rehearse a two-step and perform a waltz. That's the challenge of creating a comedy.

This cast seems to be pretty aware of when the audience laughs, and hold for it. And when that laugh comes, it is electric!

I hope to see you sometime this week!
